Animatic storyboard I made about a year and a half ago.
Here's the screenplay:
NIGHT GAMES
EXT. SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD AT NIGHT DURING A RAIN/LIGHNING STORM.
Slow zoom in on a house with an illuminated upstairs window.
INT. INSIDE OF BEDROOM
Two boys, SAM and JOSH (age 10) are playing a video game alone in one of their bedrooms.
TV screen with “START” is displayed followed by 2 tanks appearing on opposite sides of a field of rock obstacles as the boy’s game begins.
The boys are intently holding their controllers with their eyes glued to the screen and they begin to anxiously press buttons.
TV displays the tanks moving about the screen firing at each other with their shots being deflected by the rocks.
Josh, who is sitting on the right, squints his eyes focusing on the game.
On the TV screen, one tank fires and destroys the other tank. Victory music plays as “Player 1 wins” is displayed on the screen. A score count is on the top of the screen that reads “1-0”.
Josh does a fist pump for his victory while Sam rolls his eyes with a frustrated look on his face.
“Round 2” is displayed on the screen and the tanks appear again on the same field.
Sam and Josh grab their controllers and anxiously begin playing again.
Sam is very engaged in the game this time with a determination to win.
The tanks move around the screen firing and deflecting their shots.
Josh has an evil grin as he focuses on the game.
Josh’s tank traps Sam’s tank in a corner and fires, destroying Sam’s tank. “Player 1 wins” is displayed again on the screen with the same victory music. The score count changes to “2-0”.
Josh jumps up with his hands in the air with an excited expression. Sam has his head down in his hand with an even more frustrated expression.
Round 3 begins and the boys pick up their controllers, Josh looking exciting while Sam looking very reluctant.
Seconds later there is a sound of explosion coming from the TV indicating that one of the tanks was destroyed. Josh points his finger at Sam and laughs. Sam drops his jaw in shock, staring at the screen. The score is “3-0”.
There’s a flash of lightning from outside showing through the window.
Sam shakes his head; his frustrated look turns to a sinister smile. He rolls up his sleeves, pops his knuckles, and is ready to bring out his “A” game.
“Round 4” is displayed on the screen and the battle begins.
Sam stares at the screen pressing buttons with a determined, focused expression.
Sam’s tank shoots and destroys Josh’s tank. “Player 2 wins” is displayed on the screen. Score is “3-1”.
Sam jumps up throwing his hands in the air with excitement for finally winning a round. Josh stares in shock at the TV. He then turns to Sam with an annoyed, angry look. They get ready to play the next round.
(Following is a montage of Josh and Sam’s reactions to the result of each round and the score being displayed.)

“Final round” is displayed on screen.
Another lighting flash is shown through the window.
Josh and Sam glare at each other, both with a determination to be the winner. They both engage in the game, more anxiously than ever.
The tanks on screen move around firing at one another. Neither is actually hit but each come very close.
Sam raises his eyebrow and gets an evil idea. He wants to win so bad that he won’t risk any chance after coming this far. He unplugs Josh’s controller, giving him a golden opportunity to destroy his tank. Josh looks at him with anger.
On screen, Sam’s tank closes in on Josh’s unresponsive tank.
Sam has an evil expression as he’s about to obtain victory. He is about to press the button to fire on Josh’s tank and win the game.
Suddenly, there is a flash of lightning outside the window and the sound of thunder. The lights go out, along with the TV, and everything is dark.
Sam shakes his fists into the air while Josh falls over laughing and pointing at Sam for his failed attempt to win by cheating.
THE END
